REVIEW: Sennheiser PMX 680 Sports Earbud Headphones

sennheiser3

We were looking for the ultimate headphones for running and we think we might have found them in the Sennheiser PMX 680 Sports Earbud Headphones ($80). These sport headphones are a joint effort from adidas and Sennheiser. They aim to provide top quality sound, a great fit, and resistance to sweat, grime, hold, and water.

The headphones offer two earbuds with optional foam earpads. They fit comfortably on your ear without having the buds stuck inside the ear canal. The rest of the headphones is placed over each ear with the neckband clear behind the head. They have a snug yet comfortable fit thanks to slight inner tension of the flexible band. It’s not too tight nor too loose. The headphones are made to universally fit any size and shaped head.

REVIEW: Mainstreet Classics Table Top Air Powered Hockey Table

mainstreet3Perfect for the RV, traveling, or even car camping, the Mainstreet Classics Table Top Air Powered Hockey Table ($35) would make an awesome stocking stuffer this holiday season. It’s small, lightweight, and runs on 8 AA batteries. Thanks to our friends at Makais.com we were able to get our hands on one to review it.

When we first received this item, we were definitely skeptical to whether it could perform as well as a real full size version.  The table measured a mere 22″ x 12″ x 4.25″ so it was definitely small enough to fit on most tables or be thrown into the trunk of your car.

After opening the box, we discovered that the table included two pushers, two pucks, as well as parts and screws to build the goals. You definitely need a Philips head screwdriver to complete the table and we were slightly disappointed that it didn’t come with the 8 AA batteries needed to start playing right away.

Toy Trophy Wall Mounts

toy-trophy-headIt’s a little bit disturbing how much we like these Toy Trophy Wall Mounts ($30). We’re thinking about getting a few for our office but they definitely fit the bill as one of the coolest stocking stuffer gift ever for a young outdoorsman.

These stuffed animal mounts come in 5 different versions — elk, moose, black bear, polar beer, and whitetail deer. They all come in various dimensions ranging from 12″ W x10″ H for the polar bear to 22″W x 13″ H for the moose.

Garmin Edge 800 GPS Bike Computer Bundle

Garmin-Edge-800It was only a matter of time but the first touchscreen GPS bike computer is here. The Garmin Edge 800 GPS Bike Computer Bundle ($650) offers it all — touchscreen bike computer, turn-by-turn navigation, heart rate monitor, and cadence sensor kit.

The Edge 800 comes with built-in maps, the ability to use routes recorded by other cyclists, and is compatible with microSD cards for even more flexibility. You can track distance, speed, location, and ascent/descent statistics. The touchscreen is sensitive enough to respond to a gloved hand and the unit is waterproof to IPX7 standards.

Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Series Ultimate Knife

beargrylls-gerber-knifeDon’t be fooled by the celebrity name that’s usually associated with less then stellar products. While the Gerber Bear Grylls Survival Series Ultimate Knife ($80) does have a large orange “BG” emblazoned on its handle, it also seems to have a ton of other useful features.

This 4.75 inch serrated knife offers a full tang, stainless steel construction and ergonomic rubber grip handle. The base of the handle features a stainless steel pommel that can be used for hammering or pounding.

The attached lanyard has a loud emergency whistle built in and the included military-grade nylon sheath comes with both fire starter and diamond blade sharpener.

All in all, a pretty feature-rich knife that would be ideal for survival, hunting, and camping situations.
