In fact we weren’t the only ones eager to check out the bars, our own office cat watched over the whole process.

Platypus PlatyPreserve Wine Preservation System

Ok, we probably wouldn”t use the Platypus PlatyPreserve Wine Preservation System ($10) on a vintage Rothschild Bordeaux, but if we wanted a bottle of vino for our next camping trip or next day picnic it might just do the trick.

The PlatyPreserve holds 800 ml or enough for an entire standard bottle of wine. This lightweight, BPA-free container has an airtight cap so that oxygen can’t get in and ruin your prized liquid. It should keep your wine fresh for a days or even weeks.

The Climber White (2008)

Who knew that the people behind CLIF Bars also own Clif Family Winery & Farm. Check out The Climber White (2008 vintage), a crisp and refreshing Sauvignon Blanc with a bit of Muscat, Riesling, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc mixed in. This grapefruity, melon, floral note wine is actually rated to 87 points by Wine Spectator.
